(no subject)
the plot that shall never happen but I wish it would anyway, as explained to Grim in schizo ADD fashion over AIM.
9:30:12 PM) Failscream: So, Starscream in Movieverse is less motivated by his own ego than he is by the protection of Cybertron itself. G1 Starscream was, originally, primarily motivated by showing that HE IS TEH BESTEST LAWL
(9:31:04 PM) Failscream: However, CnC events + this Starscream being from 300 years in G1's future when EVERYONE IS DEAD has changed his outlook somewhat, in that he's become genuinely nostalgic for Cybertron. Granted... this is mostly because he wants to rule THAT Cybertron, not Earth, not Beast Wars Cybetron, HIS CYBERTRON GDIT
(9:31:37 PM) Failscream: It's also for this reason that he's actually become a bit more protective of his troops because honestly, if everyone hates you and/or they're all dead, what the hell are you going to rule then?
(9:33:09 PM) feelinggrimm: /nodnod
(9:33:23 PM) Failscream: As you miiight have noticed, he's also taken an extreme interest in the idea of the soul, and ways to get his original body back. This is all coalescing into one simple and terrible truth for him: the world as he knew it is dead and gone, if he ever goes home everyone he's actually grown to care about in an abstract-and-slightly-weird-creepy-manner will die horribly and he'll be left a disembodied spirit in space for all eternity. At the same time, he doesn't want to be stuck on this fucking mudball for the rest of eternity, because he hates this place. It has a lot (a LOT) of really bad associations and memories for him
(9:35:22 PM) Failscream: A while back he had an idea - what if he could bring Cybertron back... here. On Earth. Reformat the entire populace into Cybertronians, brainwash them into loving him (somehow) and set himself up as ruler absolute. That way, he'd get rid of the human race by making them into his own people, have a population who by default thought he was ~awesome~, and have an incredibly resource-rich planet whose spoils he could reap to create a civilization unlike any ever seen. In his mind, something to rival even the original Cybertron
(9:35:48 PM) Failscream: ... all of course in his name, with him going down in history as the founder of this great and glorious civilization. Except he's also immortal, so not so much going down in history as "Ruler for eternity now worship me plz"
(9:35:56 PM) Failscream: (it makes sense in his head, somehow)
(9:36:16 PM) feelinggrimm: No, no, that does make quite a bit of sense, if you can follow his intentions/desires
(9:36:30 PM) feelinggrimm: I had wondered after your 2020 ficlet if you were ever going to twist it this way
(9:36:34 PM) Failscream: >3
(9:36:51 PM) Failscream: Now... this isn't quite moral event horizon. Oh, sure, it's BAD, but he's not committing genocide, he's just
(9:37:09 PM) Failscream: ... well in his head he's just doing what the Porter did to him back to these stupid people, only clearly being cybertronian is superior anyway
(9:37:25 PM) Failscream: What makes this "oh my god Starscream what the fuck did you do" is the method by which he'd begin such a drastic change. See...
(9:37:41 PM) Failscream: in Reign of Starscream, the plot is that Starscream tries to re-create the Allspark itself, in order to save Cybertron.
(9:38:15 PM) Failscream: ... by tying six innocent Autobots to the sides of a newly constructed Cube and, in what amounts to a sacrifice ritual, brutally murdering them so their spark energy gets absorbed
(9:39:11 PM) feelinggrimm: O.o
(9:39:20 PM) Failscream: now, 1. the allspark doesn't exist in G1 continuity, and 2. just having an artifact like that wouldn't do what I'm proposing. So... this is where it gets into "Ridiculously complex, teal what are you" territory.
(9:40:00 PM) Failscream: (also in that comic it doesn't work for two reasons: 1. starscream gets betrayed (lol) and 2. he was Doin It Wrong, because the diagram which led him to this conclusion was actually showing teh allspark giving life to people, not taking it away. GJ READING IT UPSIDE DOWN)
(9:40:59 PM) Failscream: *deep breath* SO. In the various G1 continuities, there's something called the Vector Sigma network, which is a multiversal entity connected to Primus/the Allspark, that channels new sparks into protoform bodies. Basically, this network is how people get sparks.
(9:41:40 PM) Failscream: Right now in CnC, Starscream's doing two things - he's trying to learn magic from Loki because he wants to understand the human soul and what it is (specifically, how akin to a true spark it is), and he and Shockwave have, using Courtney Gears' tech, created a machine that can turn people into robots.
(9:41:55 PM) Failscream: He would combine these three things into a big, nasty doomsday device of terror.
(9:42:42 PM) Failscream: The device would be intended to send out massive shockwaves of Allspark energy, combined with transformation magic and the transformation tech, to rapidly turn people into robots and convert their souls into sparks.
(9:43:13 PM) Failscream: With the possible side effect of granting life to anything with a microchip in the vicinity, and converting organic materials into silicon based life
(9:43:20 PM) Failscream: (ie, trees suddenly turn to crystal)
(9:43:27 PM) Failscream: ... yeah.
(9:43:43 PM) Failscream: And the way he'd have to turn this on is, yes, brutally murdering six Cybertronians. And no, nothing else will do.
(9:44:00 PM) Failscream: he'd have to choose six people to kill, and given the cybertronian population... not all of them would be people he neccisarily hates
(9:44:21 PM) feelinggrimm: /has sudden fascinating mental image of bot-Trowa falling out of now-alive bot-Arsenal; keeps shut up for now
So there'd be Autobots involved, likely?
(9:44:33 PM) Failscream: Yes. I actually... lol
(9:44:49 PM) Failscream: had a list of people that he'd put up for sacrifice, though now I can't remember who the fuck is in botcast anymore since we had so many damn drops
(9:45:01 PM) Failscream: ONE SEC WHILE I CONSULT THE TAKEN LIST
(9:45:06 PM) feelinggrimm: Tch, I think we'd be lucky to HAVE six left?
(9:45:19 PM) feelinggrimm: It would be like. Starscream, alone, cackling madly with his machine.
(9:45:25 PM) Failscream: LOL
(9:45:46 PM) Failscream: welll I'll also explain the MULTIPLE POSSIBLE ENDINGS I have for this plot, depending on how people work it. and yes, I actually
(9:45:53 PM) Failscream: like to have many possible ways for players to resolve things
(9:45:57 PM) Failscream: okay, let's see...
(9:46:05 PM) Failscream: ... I can't blieve Rattrap is still on the taken list
(9:46:10 PM) feelinggrimm: ...HOW?
(9:46:14 PM) Failscream: IDEK MAN
(9:46:16 PM) feelinggrimm: Oversight much
(9:46:58 PM) Failscream: Anyway, let's see. of the people listed here... Thundercracker, Blackarachnia, Cheetor, Sentinel Prime, Terrorsaur, and Waspinator would be the ones on his kill list
(9:52:34 PM) Failscream: so anyway. list of people to kill
(9:52:44 PM) feelinggrimm: ah yes! right. /hops back on
(9:52:45 PM) Failscream: is based on "HAET, do not care about, disposable"
(9:53:03 PM) Failscream: if BA drops she'd likely be replaced by bulkhead, again with the "Do not care about"
(9:53:28 PM) feelinggrimm: Is Bulkhead even still around? /pokes at comm
(9:53:32 PM) Failscream: HELL IF I KNOW
(9:53:35 PM) feelinggrimm: There was supposed to be a log for picking him up and I never saw it
(9:53:50 PM) feelinggrimm: It was annoying; I wanted the chance for him to learn about Autobots and use it to suck up to Starscream :|
(9:53:57 PM) Failscream: orz yeah
(9:55:15 PM) Failscream: also believe it or not skyfire would be on the list before blitzwing, though I doubt he'd even be in the city for this to happen at all. and the reason is this: killing blitzwing gets starscream on Shockwave's bad side. he needs shockwave to help him with this shit. skyfire... he... in his own twisted head would be going "do not want skyfire to have to deal with me going over the moral event horizon like this" and consider it putting him out of his misery
(9:55:23 PM) Failscream: ... screamer's logic is somewhat twistedfail sometimes
(9:55:37 PM) feelinggrimm: Well I hope BA doesn't drop. Also, who is in what other categories?
I'm not sure what it says that I followed his train of thought before reading your explanation :|
(9:55:52 PM) Failscream: fasdfdfd
(9:56:00 PM) Failscream: that you watch botcast and listen to me babble a lot?
(9:56:06 PM) feelinggrimm: XD
(9:56:09 PM) feelinggrimm: probably
(9:56:14 PM) Failscream: shockwave and soundwave are essential
(9:56:17 PM) Failscream: they're his two right hand dudes
(9:56:31 PM) Failscream: he'll murder them if necessary, but ... yah
(9:56:51 PM) Failscream: and shockwave would go before soundwave did, but he'd also then go "... no soundwave's probably going to rebel now"
(9:57:30 PM) Failscream: obviously the setup of this doomsday device would take a while. for EXTRA DRAMU I kind of lol would want it at the top of the empire state building
(9:57:35 PM) Failscream: but THAT WOULD BE HARD
(9:57:47 PM) Failscream: on the other hand this is SUPERVILLAINY. RULE OF COOL MAN
(9:58:14 PM) feelinggrimm: considering they had a horrid plan involving a dam and water in the first little bit, yeah. rule of cool.
(9:58:17 PM) Failscream: the chrysler building is fine too
(9:58:50 PM) Failscream: so likely places this plot could end, including my ~favourite~. which I will state. when. we get there? fffff
(9:59:04 PM) Failscream: 1. Heroes stop him before he even sets the thing up. this is kind of fail and lonely but possible :(
(9:59:44 PM) Failscream: 2. HO SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIII he gets the device set up dramatically where he wants it . This may involve robot soldiers murdering their way into a skyscraper so he can transport it in there as he wants a wide area covered and that'd be easiest from a tall object
(9:59:47 PM) feelinggrimm: booooooo to 1
(9:59:59 PM) Failscream: ... is it sad that I know
(10:00:03 PM) Failscream: EXACTLY how this thing looks in my head
(10:00:08 PM) feelinggrimm: not at all :3
(10:00:29 PM) feelinggrimm: if i could draw fakebot to detail i would. so you're excused too XD
(10:02:08 PM) Failscream: I shoudl draw it at some point... it is a huge cube, covered in, yes, cybertronian markings, but also with magic circles. On each face is human shaped slot in which to secure someone, and then above each of these slots is a blade of pure energon connected to a robotic arm. when activated, the blades are actually shot through the person in question's chest, right through the center, which destabilizes the spark.
(10:02:14 PM) Failscream: the energy release is then collected by the cube
(10:02:23 PM) Failscream: ... and there's doomy glowing and humming
(10:02:58 PM) Failscream: now, the plan would be that the Big Damn Heroes fight their way through robot drones, get to the room, and have funtiems trying to shut the goddamn thing off and get the prisoners out.
(10:03:03 PM) Failscream: This can end in one of several ways.
(10:03:36 PM) Failscream: 1. They fail. New york gets Robot Apocalypsed; but the brainwashing doesn't take and then we have adventuretiems trying to reverse this. (UNLIKELY, THIS IS CNC AND I WOULDN'T WANT THIS ANYWAY THX)
(10:04:01 PM) Failscream: 2. They get most, if not all, of the prisoners out. Starscream is subdued and arrested.
(10:04:29 PM) Failscream: 3. Someone makes the mistake of killing Starscream, forgetting the whole "immortal spark" thing. Yes, they win the day, but he's still out there and probably going more batshit insane.
(10:05:30 PM) Failscream: 4. My personal favourite :3 Either one of the kidnap-ees or one of the rescuers somehow knows about the whole "this is how we permanently kill Starscream" thing. They recognize that the energon blades used for the sacrifice ritual are exactly the sort needed to kill him.
(10:05:32 PM) Failscream: EPIC SHOWDOWN TIEMS
(10:06:08 PM) Failscream: Resulting in what the fighter thinks might be a Heroic Sacrifice (given the EXPLODING SPARK thing)
(10:06:51 PM) Failscream: Except, due to the nature of Starscream's spark having quite a lot more energy than the average spark, and being close to a doomsday device designed to suck up spark energy, the explosion instead gets shoomp'd into the cube. Starscream Dies For Real
(10:07:24 PM) Failscream: and then I can't decide if that'd turn the cube on anyway, but not fully (in this case, it'd do what the Movie!Spark did, make a bunch of machines close to the building come to life and Cause Problems for the city) or if that'd be it.
(10:07:30 PM) Failscream: ...
(10:07:34 PM) Failscream: Either way, lots of epic.
(10:08:07 PM) feelinggrimm: I approve of 4 and the machines coming to life but aww no peoplebots :-(
(10:08:22 PM) feelinggrimm: Someone should crack draw this and say IS IRON MAN CHANGED? I CAN'T TELL
(10:08:25 PM) Failscream: ... or peoplebots
(10:08:38 PM) Failscream: 4 + peoplebots would also kind of rock if people were actually up for it :D
(10:09:01 PM) feelinggrimm: Personally I think they'd be crazy not to be
(10:09:12 PM) Failscream: Also... lol this is. Silly. But ultimately, the perso I'd want to kill Starscream?
(10:09:14 PM) feelinggrimm: I'm sitting here wondering if I can convince Ty to do it
(10:09:16 PM) Failscream: Waspinator.
(10:09:18 PM) feelinggrimm: !
(10:09:19 PM) feelinggrimm: yes
(10:09:22 PM) feelinggrimm: YES
(10:09:34 PM) Failscream: :D
(10:09:47 PM) Failscream: BECAUSE IT'D BE BEAUTIFUL AND EPIC AND POETIC JUSTICE
(10:10:01 PM) feelinggrimm: /stands by, does nothing
(10:10:05 PM) Failscream: :D
(10:10:22 PM) Failscream: I think I am going to copypasta this conversation somewhere so I have it for future reference as that's the first time I've written it down in coherent form
(10:10:37 PM) feelinggrimm: Yes do!
9:30:12 PM) Failscream: So, Starscream in Movieverse is less motivated by his own ego than he is by the protection of Cybertron itself. G1 Starscream was, originally, primarily motivated by showing that HE IS TEH BESTEST LAWL

(10:07:30 PM) Failscream: ...
(10:07:34 PM) Failscream: Either way, lots of epic.

(10:09:12 PM) Failscream: Also... lol this is. Silly. But ultimately, the perso I'd want to kill Starscream?

(10:09:16 PM) Failscream: Waspinator.

(10:10:05 PM) Failscream: :D
(10:10:22 PM) Failscream: I think I am going to copypasta this conversation somewhere so I have it for future reference as that's the first time I've written it down in coherent form
(10:10:37 PM) feelinggrimm: Yes do!
